Draw-wire sensors with absolute output are used to control the positioning and displacement of a moving part by coupling the mechanical module to a multi-turn absolute encoder. The unwinding of the measuring cable induces the production of a signal (SSI/Profibus/CanOpen/DeviceNet), which is analyzed to provide a correlation with the distance traveled by the moving part.
